Dear Pars Pilots,

Currently I'm 24 years old and I just started my journey to become a perfessional pilot. Since ever I got on Iran Air at age 8, from Tehran to Istanbul, I just fell in love and have been fascinated by airplanes ever since. Unfortunately, after high school I was unable to attend local flight school due to financial, and other personal problems that I was dealing with at that time. I felt like my dreams were dissappearing in the mist. Today, I feel like I went around a full circle in the past 5 years. I experienced many different things in different fields of careers which have helped me get to know myself much better. I have experienced a lot of positive things that I will carry on with me throughout my life, but deep inside I never lost my love for flying and becoming a pilot. This past month, thanks to my beautiful girlfriend, who has really motivated me and really got me getting up and really go after what I really truly have loved all my life. I'm really motivated and as my girlfriend says I'm really hungry and want to reach my goal SO bad and willing to work hard and give 110%. I feel like I have lost  5 years, but on positive note it has made me much more motivated and excited and makes me want to do this and appreciate it much more. I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do. Not really having any connections with anyone in this field has been a pretty rough start for me to get the ball rolling. But day after, day browsing online, my knowledge about the steps that I need to take in order to grow as a pilot, have increased.

I have just started my journey last week at Orange County Flight Center(OCFC) at John Waynes AirPort, taking that first step to reach one of my first goals, which is to get my PPL. I have also recently started talking to one of our great members here Sepehr, who has helped me out a lot with some great key points and tips. In conclusion,  I would really like to meet and become friends with more of my fellow Iranian Pilots, whom i believe I can learn and aquire much knowledge from.

In the past couple of days I have been doing a lot of research in hopes of  finding an Iranian instructor at KSNA. I believe that i would have better communication and will be much more comfortable with an  Iranian instructor more than anyone else. I would highly appreciate any feedback as far as finding the instructor that I am searching for and any other tips that you may think will help me in launching my career as a  professional pilot.

Any advive from you will be appreciated and i know that i will benefit from it. Thank you very much in advace and I'm really grateful for finding this site.

Pooya Jaan Salam,

You are extremely lucky to have Pars Pilot Club and all its dedicated members to take your hand and support you on achieving your goals in aviation. Many of us didn’t have this luxury. I remember spending countless hours looking up the word VOR in English>Persian dictionary trying to find the meaning for it. Sounds funny but its true. My only advice to you is what my late father gave me; Bedasst avar anche dar fardasst Emrooz, Ke emroozat haman nadideh fardasst, ke dar entezarash boody to dirooz. (English) Try to achieve what is for tomorrow… Today, cause your today is the same tomorrow that you were looking forward to it…. Yesterday.

Aviation is a tuff market and only guys that don’t give up make it all the way. So, It’s better to be ready for an opportunity and not having one, then having an opportunity and not being ready for it.

You have all the wonderful and great guys around you to help but if you ever have any academic question feel free to share it with me too. I will try to answer it or do my best to find the answer for you.

Keep the blue side up.
